HorsCat is made by Anaara LLC. This page covers horscat.com and the closed-beta sign-up on it. We collect as little as we can, and we don't sell or rent what we collect.
What we collect
- Your email address, if you join the beta.
- Your phone platform (iPhone, Android or both), which you pick on the form.
- Where you signed up: we note that the sign-up came from this page.
Our server also keeps a short sign-up log with the time, the platform you picked, and a one-way scrambled form of your network address. We use it to stop automated abuse (a few sign-ups per network per hour) and to fix problems. The log does not contain your email address.
Why
We use your email address to confirm your sign-up, to send your beta invite when it's ready, and to email you about the HorsCat beta itself, such as new test builds and when the app launches. We don't send anything unrelated to the beta, and we never share your address for others to market to you. We use your platform to know which build to invite you to.
Who handles it
We use Kit (kit.com) to store the beta list and send the emails. Kit processes your email address, platform and sign-up source on our behalf. Sign-up is double opt-in: you're only on the list after you click the link in the confirmation email Kit sends you. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes you off the list.
The site itself is hosted by Opalstack, which sees standard web server requests like any host.
The demo video
The demo video is hosted on YouTube. Nothing loads from YouTube until you press play. When you do, the player loads from youtube-nocookie.com, and from then on YouTube's own privacy policy applies to that player.
No analytics, no tracking cookies
This site uses no analytics, no advertising tags and no tracking cookies. It sets no cookies at all.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your email address while you're on the beta list. You can unsubscribe at any time from any email, or write to us and we'll delete your details from the list.
Children
The beta is for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
